With the ever rising cost of the health  plans in the marketplace, more and more consumers are looking for options outside of the marketplace. In 2023, the average Obamacare plan costs $469 per month for a 40-year-old individual, $937 for a couple age 40, $1,214 for a 40-year-old couple with one child, and $1,491 for a 40-year-old couple with two children. * And it looks like it is not going to get better anytime soon. As is echoed “the deductibles are going up, and the health benefits are going down.”

* Mar 20, 2023 (Policygenius) — ACA premiums are projected to increase by an average of 6% for next year’s health insurance plans.

Traditional PPO Health Plans

  • You can choose the insurance company, the plan and the options that meet your needs.
  • You can renew or change health insurance year-round since most PPO carriers have year-round enrollment.
  • Your plan is not tied to your job, so you can change jobs without losing your coverage.
  • Fully customizable (you choose how much you want to pay for your monthly premium, deductible, etc.) can be up to ½ the cost of an Obamacare plan.
  • More flexibility: PPO plans usually offer more flexibility in terms of coverage and eligibility.
  • Lower premiums: PPO plans can often have lower premiums than ACA (marketplace) plans, especially for healthy people.
  • Nationwide PPO (excellent coverage for doctors, office visits, hospital stays, surgeries, and prescription drugs).
  • Lower deductible (many even have zero deductible) and out of pocket costs.
